The taste of Easter on the Amalfi Coast

The spring season has arrived and with it also the rays of the warm sun, blooms and Easter holidays. In every corner of the World, Easter has its ancient traditions and rituals and on Amalfi Coast the tradition becomes an explosion of flavors, scents and conviviality to live in the warmth of your own home. Here, in Italy, Easter festivities are preceded by a long Lenten season, a time of renunciation and prayer… and Easter becomes a symbol of liberation to be celebrated. The best way to celebrate is gathering together at the table and discovering the culinary tradition of our Coast rich in ancient dishes and treats. Ready to find out more about the culinary tradition of our Coast?
First of all, the most wished dish of all is the ‘Tortano’, a savory bread typical throughout the Region and handed down by tradition. It’s a sort of a plum cake and is covered with salted bacon, filled with pepper, local cured meats, cheese and eggs – the mixture of cured meat and cheese varies from recipe to recipe – it must be eaten really hot to enjoy its flavor to the fullest. In line with the Easter coastal tradition, the second main dish is doubtless the roasted lamb, also said ‘O Beneritto – translated as ‘The Blessed’ – so called for the bay leaves added during its preparation and for its religious connection. After all, lambs and goats, were brought as gift by the settlers to owners on the occasion of Easter Holidays and this ritual turned this dish into a timeless culinary tradition during the Easter holidays to local families.

Every dish served on the tables of our Coast is always accompanied by delicious wines that this land boasts. In fact, between terraces and pergolas, are being produced some of the most world-renowned wines of the Divine and not only, such as the white wine ‘Ginestra’, a typical grape variety of the areas of Amalfi, Maiori, Minori, Scala and Ravello named after the characteristic scent of broom; the ‘Ripolo’, a white wine farmed solely in this area; moreover the historical vineyard ‘Piedirosso’, named after the red of the stems of the grapes, which recall the legs of pigeons and finally the Tintore, a red wine typical of the hills of Tramonti. Just some of the broad variety of wines of the Divine to taste! When it comes to sweet, in a real easter lunch cannot miss the famous ‘Pastiera’, a typical cheesecake, rich in ingredients, but with a delicate taste. In ancient times, housewives made it in great quantities during the days before Easter, this tradition has been left unchanged over time. In fact, the preparation of the ‘Pastiera’ begins during the days before Easter even nowadays, the flavor of candied fruit, wheat berries and citrus is a real treat for the palate. And as all around the World, here too there is the tradition of chocolate eggs: an exchange of gifts, surprises for kids and a symbol of rebirth that is about to arrive!
Well, it’s time to lay your tables with pastel-coloured tablecloths, tulips and lots of tasty food to celebrate Easter in any part of the World with LOVE.
The beauty and tradition of our Coast are waiting for you!

As a matter of fact, wedding plans continue to be impacted by the emergency COVID19, but although this pandemic period, we can consider ourselves lucky to live in a digital era where information is at our fingertips, video calls are on our screens and planning our Wedding Day is easily possible from your desk.
Here, I’m going to tell you how I thought to virtually plan every aspect of your Wedding Day together with the vendors I usually work with!
Identify your Vision
Once you have a date, start identifying your Wedding vision and then start looking for a professional Wedding Planner who can make it come true.
Meet virtually with your Planner
Many planners like me have jumped on the virtual world using different platforms to plan ceremonies and make their presence felt even at a distance. Thereby, all your wedding planning worries will be at ease!
Organize a virtual venue tour
During this pandemic period, most Wedding venues are now offering personal site tours via FaceTime or Skype. Virtual tours allow the couple to see the venue in real time, you can literally have a walk through your venue with the help of your Wedding Planner asking for all the information you need without risking your safety. What better way to find your Wedding venue right from home than a virtual tour?
Meet virtually your Vendors
Virtual consultations with your future vendors are a great way to meet them and know each other. Set up an initial consultation via Skype or FaceTime with photographers, floral designers, make-up artists, bands and so on always with the essential help of your Planner. They can show you samples of their work and talk about their packages as well.
Caterer & Cake Tasting
Tasting the food is a key thing for choosing which dishes you want your guests to enjoy during your Wedding Day. Just like your venue it’s impossible to complete a tasting in person right now, you can request sample tasting of the food and cake that they offer available for a take away service.

Fall in LOVE with your Fall Wedding Ceremony!
When it comes to the best period of the year to get married, people usually tend to go for the Summer Season. And if I told you that Autumn is the most amazing time of the year to get married? Just like I said! There’re so many reasons why Autumn is one of the most popular Wedding Seasons: the mild weather, earthy warm colours, the wild foliage, the romantic atmosphere and… with all the restrictions the global pandemic have caused, forcing many couples to postpone their summer ceremonies this year, Fall Weddings have become more popular than ever!
Therefore, if you’re deciding your new date, you can’t go wrong with a mid-September, October or late November Wedding Ceremony… And of course, here come my tips!

Best places for a Fall Wedding Day
Doubtless, outdoor venues can worderfully fit with your Fall Wedding Ceremony. Especially if you’re getting married here, on Amalfi Coast, where leaves change their colors during the season offering exclusive venues with scenic views such as vineyards where some of the finest wines of our land are produced or ancient villas overlooking the sea.
Best Fall Wedding Colors
Traditionally, a respectable Fall Wedding Color Palette includes burgundy, purple, mustard yellow, rose gold, emerald green, navy blue, orange and ivory. All the shades that the landscapes of our Coast boast in every period of the year, between land and sea. Hence, you just need to think about colors that you naturally see during the Fall Season and build your color palette around those for a flawless Fall Wedding Ceremony.
Flowers, flowers, flowers
Your Fall Flower Setting should mirror the earthy and romantic tones of the current season, so you should choose the warmest blooms: dahlias, ranunculus, roses or sunflowers… Mixing fresh and dried flowers and filling it with wild coloured foliage and twigs of eucalyptus… And why not incorporating grape clusters, local chestnuts or tiny pumpkins.
Outdoor or Indoor?
Although our Coast is characterized by a mild climate throughout the year, the one thing about your Fall Wedding Ceremony will be unpredictable is definitely the weather, it could be very hot or very cold during the Fall Season. For your ceremony, I suggest you choose an outdoor space to fully embrace the backdrop provided by nature during the daytime and book an indoor space for the second part of your ceremony for the night.
Fall Decor
When it comes to Fall Wedding Decorations, the key is absolutely matching warm color tones and natural elements. In fact, you should go for a branch arch with an abundance of seasonal flowers and foliage, foliage, foliage in every nook and cranny for your civil or religious rite and opt for a rustic-chic style table-setting for your dinner following the Italian Tradition with wooden tables and wine barrels.
Cream or Not cream?
There are so many seasonal Fall wedding flavors for your Wedding Cake, you just think of all the in-season fruits and apple dessert recipes you can include. By the way, if you’re a classic dessert person who prefers a cream cake, you could opt for a natural naked cake dressed with fresh fall blooms and local fruits giving it that autumnal touch you want.
Embrace the Backdrop for Your Photos
One of the biggest perks of getting married during the Fall Season is taking advantage of the scenic backdrop that your venue provides, especially for your Wedding Photos. Greenery and natural lights will give you a stunning collection of pics.
Sparkle everywhere
Lighting will play an essential role in the setting of your Fall Wedding Ceremony, then use countless strands of fairy lights and lanterns throughout your ceremony in order to warm up the venue and make your guests live a magical experience…. and the light of a dusk on our Coast will bring an extra touch!

The beauty of our enchanting Coast will be the best scenario for your #destinationlove even during the Fall Season.
Make your Fall Wedding come true!

Postponed Wedding? Here my tips to store your Bridal Dress!
If your big day was postponed due to the global pandemic, you already know there’s a lot to think about! In addition to reviewing your plans, choosing a new date, reviewing your decorations and updating the whole guest list, you also have to think about what you’ll do with your Bridal Dress. For many brides, the search for ‘the one’ can be a long and heartfelt process which involves months of appointments and hours of search. After all, it will be the dress in which you are supposed to spend one of the most incredible days of your life. Therefore, you need to make sure your Bridal Dress stays in the best condition for as long as possible… I’ll give you some tips about what you should do with the dress you spent months searching for!

Store your Bridal Dress in a cool & dark place
In order to protect your Bridal Dress from light, which can easily fade your dress color, store it in a cool and dark place. But, wherever you’ll store your Bridal Dress, you should avoid storing it in a zip-up bag, the cloth needs ‘to breathe’. Then, you should go for a professional wedding preservation box, or better yet, a wedding chest.
Avoid Damp Places
Don’t store your gown in an attic, a garage or a basement as the temperatures and humidity in these areas of your home can be extreme and damage your Bridal Dress.
To hang or not to hang?
When you’re going to hang your Bridal Dress, you first need to take its weight into consideration. If your dress is a few light layers, satin or silk, hanging it will be the best way to store your Bridal Dress. On the contrary, if you have a heavy Bridal Dress with lots of layers or a wide gown, you will need to dedicate a whole room in your home to store your Bridal Dress, laying it flat on top of a bed in order to save its shape.
Handle it with care
If your Bridal Dress has special embroidery or bead decorations sewn on its gown, you should always use white cotton gloves when you’re handling it if you don’t want to damage it!
Keep the Dust & Stains away
Remember! On a white Bridal Dress, even a tiny speck of dust or stains will show up. Make sure there’s nothing that might touch your Bridal Dress once you stored it, you don’t want to stain it!
Remember to inspect your Bridal Dress
Regardless of the place and the method, I recommend weekly inspections if you want to make sure nothing happened to your Bridal Dress.
Leave a Bridal Note
Furthermore, I suggest leaving a note on the door or on the box, reminding people that there’s a Bridal Dress right there!
Don’t forget your Veil
Last but not least, you should properly hang your veil as well, so make sure to have a veil storage clip on hand! No matter what you’re looking for, I’m always here to give you all the tips you need about your #destinationlove
